In connection with its 27th Anniversary, the Bureau of Agricultural Research of the Department of Agriculture (DA-BAR) held the 10th Agriculture & Fisheries Technology Forum and Product Exhibition at SM Mega Trade Hall B in Mandaluyong City last August 8-10, 2014. In line with the theme: “Isang Dekada ng mga Angkop na Teknolohiyang Kaakibat ng Agri-preneur Tungo sa Maunlad na Ekonomiya”, developed technologies on fiber processing and utilization were put up on exhibit. These include the utilization of abaca wastes for natural fiber composites and also organic liquid fertilizer from abaca extracts developed by the private sector, Essensa Naturelle. The automated loom weaving machine newly developed by JRD Systems, Inc. was also showcased through video presentation and displayed woven fabrics.

The exhibit also highlighted the PhilFIDA Vision - Mission and the different natural fibers commercially available in the Philippines. An average of 40 persons per day consisting of private individuals, entrepreneurs, students and government personnel nationwide visited the PhilFIDA booth.
