PhilFIDA RO VII Conducted a Two-Day Training on Sisal Production Technology in Bohol

On April 25-26, 2024, the PhilFIDA RO VII-Bohol Provincial Office, led by Ms. Shiela Suaybaguio and Mr. Hermelito Malaran, in collaboration with LGU-Dimiao under the direction of Hon. Mayor Randolf Ang and the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Mr. Jayrell G. Adanza, conducted a two-day training on Sisal Production Technology in Brgy. Baguhan, Dimiao, Bohol.

This training focused on imparting essential knowledge and skills crucial for sisal production in the province. With the participation of 18 farmers, the event facilitated comprehensive discussions on sisal cultivation techniques from planting to harvesting, and its economic benefits. 

In addition to the theoretical aspects, practical sessions provided participants with hands-on experience. They visited an existing sisal production area owned by one of their peers and actively engaged in collecting sisal bulbils, preparing seedbeds, and planting the collected bulbils. 

The collaboration between PhilFIDA, LGU-Dimiao, and the Municipal Agriculture Office exemplifies the synergy needed to promote sustainable agriculture and uplift farming communities in Bohol.
