The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, in collaboration with Bounty Agro-Ventures Incorporated (BAVI), has initiated the distribution of 12 Mobile Spindle Stripping Machines (MSSM) to IP groups in the municipalities of Tiwi, Polangui, Buhi, Goa, and Bulusan, located in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon. This distribution was conducted during a turnover ceremony held at the CSPC Auditorium on March 8, 2024.

The recent turnover ceremony stands as a testament to the tangible impact of collaborative efforts. The Indigenous Peoples received support aimed at enhancing their abaca farming activities, highlighting a sustained commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment.

In continued support, the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) through Regional Office V has committed to providing technical training on the proper care and maintenance of the units, as well as fiber grading and classification. Additionally, they will offer free abaca planting materials to assist with abaca farm expansion and rehabilitation efforts, along with providing free technical assistance and business advisory services. This commitment aims to sustain the development of IP communities in the Bicol region.
