PhilFIDA Drives Support for Improved Operationalization of the Cotton Processing Center in Patnongon, Antique

Date Posted 31 January 2024

To ensure the continuous operationalization of the Cotton Processing Centers in the Philippines, the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), through the Interim Fiber Engineering Division (IFED) in collaboration with the PhilFIDA Regional Satellite Office led by Ms. Evelyn B. Cagasan, conducted testing of cotton equipment at the Patnongon Cotton Processing Center in Antique on November 27 to 29, 2023.

The objective was to ensure the optimal performance of the equipment and its adherence to required standards. Throughout the evaluation, six skilled operators actively participated in testing the machinery, enabling the team to extract valuable insights into the intricacies of the cotton processing equipment's performance, specifically the newly procured ring doubler, concerning operating time, output, and capacity.

PhilFIDA remains dedicated in its commitment to ensuring that Cotton Processing Centers operate at their best, expediting processes, and increasing the income of cooperative beneficiaries. This concerted effort contributes significantly to the overall progression of the Philippine fiber industry.
