On Monday, November 13, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr. and Senator Robinhood Padilla took the lead in a significant event—the flag-raising ceremony and launch of HIBLA BIDA!!! The 2023 National Fibercrops Summit, organized by the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA). The "HIBLA BIDA!!!" summit embodies the idea that fibercrops are not only intrinsic to the nation's heritage but also integral to its future economic viability, competitiveness, and sustainability. The summit aims to address the multifaceted implementation challenges facing the fibercrop industry, with a particular focus on the five key fibercrops: Abaca, Cotton, Salago, Pinya, and Silk.

This day also marks the opening of the exhibit and retail as a part of the summit, which is scheduled to run from November 13 to 16, 2023, at the DA Main Lobby.
