PhilFIDA RO VII Leads Salago Fiber Grading and Licensing Exam in Cebu City

To assess the competency of fiber classifiers in the grading and classification of Salago fibers, the PhilFIDA Regional Office VII Regulatory Unit took the initiative to organize both practical and written examinations on September 12, 2023, in Cebu City. This examination was specifically designed for the newly recruited classifiers of Nautilus International Corporation, a Grading and Baling Establishment (GBE) specializing in Salago fiber.

It is mandatory for all Class A Traders and GBEs to employ licensed fiber classifiers within their establishments. These entities form the backbone of the Salago fiber trade, responsible for the acquisition, processing, and packaging of these valuable fibers. Therefore, strict adherence to industry standards is crucial to maintain the high quality of Salago fibers.
