Ceremonial Signing for the Establishment of the Weaving & Processing Center Project in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur

Atty. Genevieve Velicaria Guevarra, DA Assistant Secretary and concurrent Executive Director of the Philippine Fiber Development Authority (PhilFIDA), visited the CARAGA Region to personally meet with the Sinai Abaca Weavers and Farmers Association (SAWFA), the farmer-beneficiaries of the abaca weaving and processing center project. This project includes the provision of three handloom units along with other weaving tools and devices, as well as three high-speed sewing machines. The meeting took place in the Municipality of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur on October 10, 2023.

Present during the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between PhilFIDA, the LGU of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, and Sinai Abaca Weavers and Farmers Association were Dr. Thelma G. Lamanilao, the Municipal Mayor of Sibagat; Hon. Ma. Liza L. Evangelista, the Municipal Vice Mayor; Ms. Evelyn D. Paydong, the SAWFA President; Engr. Ricardo M. Oñate, the DA-CARAGA Regional Executive Director; Mr. Christopher H. Lindo, the RAFC Chairperson; and Samuel M. Nacino, the OIC-Regional Director of PhilFIDA CARAGA.
