PhilFIDA Enhances Client Satisfaction Through Participation in DCCPS Program - Batch 2

Date Posted August 2023

The selected PhilFIDA personnel joined and actively participated in the Designing Citizen-Centered Public Services Program (DCCPS) - Batch 2, sponsored by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). This three-month long hybrid program commenced on August 8, 2023, and is scheduled to conclude on November 10, 2023. The program involves a total of eleven (11) government agencies.

The primary objective of the program is to foster citizen-centered innovation by integrating clients’ concerns at every stage of service design to address their needs and expectations. Achieving citizen-centered innovation involves a series of procedural steps, including discovery, definition, design, delivery, diagnosis, and debugging. Participants from various government agencies progressed through these procedures, which included low-fidelity prototyping, user testing, and pitching. These lectures and workshops were facilitated by Mr. Peter Dan Baon, the Program Director of the Center of Excellence on Public-Sector Productivity, along with Ms. Gianne Karla Gaoiran and Mr. Alvin Joseph Bilog, the Project Manager of the DAP.

From this upskilling phase of the program, the major takeaway is that failure is a natural part of innovation. The resource persons clearly explained that failure is an inherent step toward innovation. When faced with failure, the mentioned procedures above are reiterated until a refined and innovative concept comes to fruition.

Reassuringly, the DAP pledged that they will stand alongside these participating agencies in their pursuit of attaining the ultimate goal of innovation.

PhilFIDA remains resolute in its commitment to nurturing its human resources through continuous learning. By empowering its employees with the skills they need to work efficiently and effectively, the organization ensures the successful accomplishment of its tasks.
