International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples and National Indigenous Peoples Day 2023

Today, on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples (IDWIP) and National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD), we proudly stand with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to celebrate the contributions of our indigenous communities.

For FY 2023, PhilFIDA has allocated a significant portion of our programs - 15% of our beneficiaries - to support Indigenous fibercrop farmers, with a specific focus on engaging 10% from the youth sector. We firmly believe in the power of the youth as catalysts for positive change in the fibercrop industry and agriculture sector.

At PhilFIDA, we honor and support the role of our Indigenous farmers in our nation's growth and global development objectives by empowering and uplifting their voices as we work hand in hand to maintain the Philippines' prominence in the global fibercrop market.
