Abaca Competition of HABI: The Philippine Textile Council, Inc.

Our country is known for our unique, varied and colorful indigenous fabrics. This year, HABI: The Philippine Textile Council is announcing its first abaca textile competition.

This competition is open to all Filipino abaca weavers. Participants must submit a panel at least 6 meters long. There are no width restrictions. The entry must be of 100% abaca and based on a traditional pattern and/or weaving technique. Entries must include a title and a detailed description along with a photograph showing the weaver working on his/her entry.

Deadline for submission of entries is on September 15, 2022. Three (3) winners will receive PhP 50,000 each.

Entries must be packed with care and must be submitted to the HABI Office at #962 May Street, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
