The Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) with Executive Director Arnold “Ali” I. Atienza conducted a site inspection of the Weaving and Processing Center in Sitio Sta. Margarita, Brgy. Munting Tubig, Ibaan, Batangas to monitor the status of the project launched on 31 October 2024. This center is a key initiative in collaboration with the Local Government of Ibaan and the SM Sunrise Weaving Association, envisioned to strengthen the local handloom weaving industry and support inclusive economic growth in the community.

The inspection focused on ensuring that construction milestones are on track and that the facility’s design and implementation are aligned with its intended purpose—as a community-based center for weaving, fiber processing, and capacity building.

This project is made possible through the support of Senator Loren Legarda, who continues to advocate for cultural preservation and livelihood development. PhilFIDA remains dedicated to seeing the project through to completion and ensuring it delivers lasting impact for the weaving communities of Ibaan and beyond.
