The Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) met with key officers of the Cebu Furniture Industry Foundation, Incorporated (CFIF) to discuss the utilization of fibers in furniture manufacturing. The delegation, led by Executive Director Arnold “Ali” L. Atienza, alongside PhilFIDA VII OIC Regional Director Joseph S. Salas, explored strategies to strengthen the supply chain and establish linkages between Cebu’s furniture manufacturers and fiber suppliers from various regions.
During the discussions, ED Ali Atienza highlighted the necessity of fostering stronger partnerships with fiber producers outside Cebu to ensure a more sustainable and diverse supply of raw materials. CFIF, represented by Executive Consultant Ms. Ruby B. Salutan and other key officers, expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to support the industry’s evolving needs. With CFIF’s longstanding commitment to international market standards and high-quality craftsmanship, the partnership is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Philippine furniture in the global market.
Both organizations are eager to move forward with initiatives to improve fiber supply management, industry sustainability, and market positioning.
