Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) Executive Director Arnold “Ali” I. Atienza recently visited Interope Marketing Company, Inc., a PhilFIDA-registered processor and Grading/Baling Establishment (GBE) in Cebu Province. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between PhilFIDA and key industry players while gaining firsthand insights into the operations of one of the country’s oldest and largest rope manufacturers, underscoring its commitment to quality and compliance with industry standards.
Guided by Ms. Tita Dalagan, Interpore’s Purchasing Officer, ED Ali Atienza toured the company’s rope-making facility and observed its high-quality production processes. Interope Marketing has built a strong reputation in the fiber industry, supplying both local and international markets. The visit also included discussions with company owner Mr. Tomas Ngo, focusing on industry challenges such as the scarcity of fiber supplies affecting local manufacturers.
The engagement features PhilFIDA’s commitment to addressing industry concerns and fostering sustainable, eco-friendly, and biodegradable fiber production. ED Ali Atienza was joined by PhilFIDA OIC Regional Director Joseph S. Salas, Technical Assistance Unit Head Jose Dary Locsin, and Regulatory Unit Head Andy Baco, ensuring a comprehensive approach to strengthening government-industry partnerships.
