At the Cotton Processing Center in Barangay Padang, the team got a firsthand look at the step-by-step transformation of seed cotton into yarn. They also assessed the facilityโs machines to determine how PhilFIDA can help improve efficiency and support potential upgrades.
The visit wrapped up with a stop at a local weaving center, where skilled artisans turn cotton yarn into beautiful fabricsโshawls, barongs, and more, highlighting the rich heritage of Philippine weaving and the vast opportunities for sustainable textile production.
