PhilFIDA Executive Director visited the Western Visayas Fiber Experiment Station in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, where he was introduced to various fiber crops cultivated at the research station. Ms. Evelyn Cagasan led the tour, providing in-depth discussions on the different fiber crops, their characteristics, and their potential applications in the textile and industrial sectors.
The visit emphasized PhilFIDA’s commitment to research and development in the fiber industry, showcasing ongoing efforts to enhance sustainable fiber production and explore innovative, eco-friendly, and biodegradable applications for locally grown fiber crops.
