The Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), led by Executive Director Arnold “Ali” I. Atienza, welcomed representatives of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) on July 2, 2026, in Quezon City, for a meeting to explore potential areas of cooperation in the fiber industry and related sectors.
The discussion introduced MATRADE’s role in promoting international trade and provided a venue for both parties to identify opportunities for collaboration focused on strengthening trade and business partnerships, advancing industry development, fostering innovation and sustainability, and expanding market opportunities for fiber-based products. Both PhilFIDA and MATRADE expressed their commitment to sustaining dialogue and pursuing future initiatives that will contribute to the growth, resilience, and global competitiveness of the fiber industry.
Through strategic international partnerships, PhilFIDA continues to support the development of the Philippine fiber sector and create greater opportunities for farmers, processors, manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders.
