The Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) hosted by Regional Office V conducted the Awarding of Labor Incentives under the Abaca Disease Management Project (ADMP) on October 17, 2025, in Mabini, Viga, Catanduanes.
 
The activity recognized the collective efforts of abaca farmers’ groups and local stakeholders in sustaining disease management and rehabilitation initiatives that protect and strengthen the abaca industry in the province.
 
The event welcomed Hon. Patrick Alain T. Azanza, Governor of Catanduanes; Hon. Jennifer M. Tuplano, Municipal Mayor of Viga; Hon. Jose “Bong” Teves, Jr., TGP Partylist Representative; Hon. Edwin T. Tanael, PBM and Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture; PhilFIDA Executive Director Arnold “Ali” I. Atienza, and OIC-Regional Director Mary Anne R. Molina who shared words of encouragement and reaffirmed their strong support for the abaca industry and its dedicated farmers in Catanduanes.
 
This initiative underscores PhilFIDA’s commitment to uplifting abaca communities and ensuring a resilient, disease-free, and sustainable fiber industry—aligned with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and DA Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Tiu Laurel, Jr.
