In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. to strengthen partnerships and promote inclusive agricultural growth, the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) led by Executive Director Arnold “Ali” I. Atienza, OIC-Regional Director Mary Anne R. Molina, and OIC-Technical Assistance Division Manolito F. Apalla, participated in a collaboration meeting with Hon. Jose “Bong” Teves Jr. of the TGP Partylist, representatives from YLGAs, and local officials of San Miguel, San Andres, and other municipalities in Catanduanes.
The meeting focused on identifying priority abaca industry development projects aimed at improving productivity, expanding market opportunities, and enhancing the welfare of abaca farmers. Through these collaborative efforts, PhilFIDA continues to align with the DA’s goal of achieving a Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya, ensuring that the abaca sector remains a strong pillar of sustainable rural development.
