The Balinad Farmers Association from Balinad, Daraga, Albay, led by President Jesus Llana, together with Brgy. Chairman Marilou Mirandilla, Kagawad Mark Delumen, and members of the group, happily received 2,000 abaca seedlings from the Sorsogon Fiber Experimental Station (SFES).
This was made possible through the support of PhilFIDA V, under the leadership of OIC-Regional Director Mary Anne R. Molina, with the assistance of Engr. Brent Baltazar R. Marbella, PhilFIDA Albay Provincial Fiber Officer, and Engr. Jason Regalado, Fiber Development Officer.
A big thanks as well to SFES In-Charge, Mr. Abmer O. Patricio, for providing healthy abaca planting materials to help the farmers establish their abaca farms and strengthen local livelihoods.
